Dr. Mask

This game was made for the Extra Credits game jam #6. The theme for the game jam was "Take Care".  Our interpretation of the theme is that you have to care of yourself and the others around you, by fighting the evil Karens!

Controls:

Avoid the different enemies to keep your exposure bar low.
WASD to walk around.
LMB to shoot
Walk into powerups to use them.
Hazmat suit gives you temporary invincibility.
Disinfectant lowers your exposure bar.

Challenges:

Extra Distance: If you get close to an enemy your exposure bar raises. If the bar fills up you get a game over.

Story:

The year is 3020. The leader of the Karen cult, Kareena, has sent her followers back in time to spread a series of terrible viruses. She seemed unstoppable, until...

Dr. Mask!

Intent on stopping the spread of disease, you made the time traveler's mask to search the past and stop Kareena and the Karens with your newly constructed mask gun.

First stop, New York City.

During your visit to 2020 to help with the COVID-19 pandemic, a cult of Karens get their hands on your machine and take their unhygienic habits to other time periods. Dr. Mask must follow them and try to limit their damage before the world's population is completely eradicated by poor sanitation habits!

Enemies:
Karen: Slightly raises your exposure bar, if you get too close.

Anti-vaxx Karen: Rapidly raises your exposure bar.

Craig: Raises your exposure bar, and disables you weapon if you get too close.

School child + Karen: Raises your exposure bar if you get too close, and throws projectiles that also raise you exposure bar.
